Running and breathing is hard.

3/16/17

Yesterday I did a half day at the hospital, ran a few errands, then met Amy P. for a run. She kept making me laugh so I had to stop and walk, but it was great. I'm amazed at how much more walking I need, but I've heard once you get into the second trimester, your energy comes back. Man am I looking forward to that!! We did 4 miles in 50 minutes (12.5 min mile- *sigh*).

The day before that we ran 3 miles and it went by so fast. If I had it my way, we would be walking all of it, but I am so grateful that she is pushing me to work hard! I know Cletus appreciates it.

After we finished the run, I took the dogs on a 40 minute walk. I have no clue what happened to them but they were TERRIBLE. It was foreshadowing for the rest of the evening, honestly. Raz wasn't home and we have a guy staying in our rental. I believe those two things were enough to cause Thor to loose his shiiiiit. He really responds better to Raz than me. Jay is always excitable but listens to me more than Thor does.

I need to incorporate more weight lifting into my routine, but we got some baby furniture(!!!) and it has taken over the room I normally work out in. **So begins the necessary adjustments to my daily routines!**

I'm hoping to go Kayaking this weekend but we haven't decided on a place. I'm leaning towards mineral wells, primarily because I think they rent kayaks! Hah, certainly helps, doesn't it!

FW Run Co Christmas Tree Run!

12-20-16 Yesterday Amy P and I met up at the Fort Worth Running Company (FW Run CO, for the hipsters), around 6pm so we could run their annual Christmas Tree run. It's when a large 'herd' of people run from the FW Run CO to the Big A Christmas tree in Sundance square (1.5 miles), take a picture, then turn around and head back. Last year they had Adidas mugs with hot chocolate and Baileys! This year it was the FW RUN CO mugs with hot coco and cookies! Well, it was hovering around 32 degrees when we started out and let me tell you- that is brisk for this girl. I was wearing a long sleeve tech shirt, a short sleeve shirt, a hoodie over that, ear warmers, capris and gloves! Obviously, over dressed as I was sweating like mad, but the minute I would take something off, I'd freeze! The way up to the Christmas tree has a particularly unkind uphill, but it was fun to push! I like running in urban areas because you get to stop at all the red lights! We made it to the Tree...

Goggles!

11-2-16 Got up at 4:45am and was in the pool by 5:30am. I wore goggles for the first time and definitely got cocky. I had a ton of water go through my sinuses. Half the pool I’m sure. I was able to go back and forth 2x with the breaststroke and then back and forth plus one with the freestyle. Small upgrades but I’m making progress! I think I did 45 minutes of good movement and then accumulated 10 minutes of lunges and heavy breathing. Wow. I got a hell of a workout. There were several times I had to stop and pant. Excessively. And don’t worry, I ate leftovers for breakfast (black beans and broccoli) and then had a few chocolate grahamn crackers. Ah well, can’t win them all. I don’t have to go in until later tomorrow so I’m thinking about swimming again, just because I have more time. I’ve decided I can get my booties when I can swim for 10 straight minutes. Oh, and guess what! I signed up for the Lifetime Fitness Indoor triathlon on 1/8/17! It’s a 10 minute swim, a 30 minute cyc...

Chewy Necklaces

5/7/17 Made a few of those chewy necklaces I talked about last time! Super easy to make and a great way to kill time!  We had a party for one of the brothers on Friday and here's a picture of me with my sister in law.  She's 6 weeks ahead of me sooooo... 24-ish weeks? Raz's candidate won his race! So he's napping until church today and I'm sitting around trying to figure out ways to make more $$! I'm frustrated by my lack of OT work, but know that it's all in God's hands. He's provided so much for us and this is how I am learning to lean on and trust Him for everything.
